On the rainy night of July 26th I was sat around a kitchen table with some old friends when the news of Sinéad O'Connor's untimely passing filtered through. We sat in silence for a few minutes. Then I noticed that a dripping tap was beating a liquid rhythmic pulse and my friend Dave quickly recorded it on his portable recorder. Two days later I was messing about with the tap loop in my home studio and had remembered that Sinéad had done a tribute to Kurt Cobain on his passing in 1994 by recording a cover of his Nirvana song 'All Apologies'. A few hours later, using whatever instruments I had to hand. I had fashioned my own version of the song in tribute to both of those musicians who left the world too early but left their mark upon it with their music.
